Former Manchester City and Arsenal fullback Bacary Sagna is being lined up for a return to Europe.

Sagna, now 36, has come off contract at Montreal Impact in the MLS and is eager to play on.

20 Minutes reports Nantes are in contact with the defender and talks are developing positively.

Sagna is likely to be offered a short-term deal by Nantes to the end of this season.

The veteran last played in Europe in Italy with Benevento before leaving for Canada.
