Nagoya Grampus striker Josh Kennedy hopes he can finally form a strong partnership with Middlesbrough frontman Scott McDonald. The duo are likely to team up in a front two for the Australian national team on Saturday when they take on World Cup quarter-finalists Paraguay in Sydney and Kennedy knows if they get more time playing together, they can become a lethal pairing.
"I really don't think we've had a chance to make it work," he said.
"Like all partnerships it can take a bit of practice to jell, and we haven't really had that opportunity.
"It's good to work on it again in training, and maybe in Saturday's game and over the next few months we can build on it."
Kennedy admitted the fact he was scoring regularly for his J-League club gave him confidence heading into the clash.
"It's nice to be scoring goals - it does help your confidence," he added.
