Graham Murty insists Reading are not in crisis after a disappointing start to the season.
"Teams have good and bad patches and we are having ours at the moment. We know we haven't reached the high standards we have set for ourselves.
"I really don't think it is one big problem, it's just little things we can improve on."
Murty added: "We have had two years of success and a lot of pats on the back. Things aren't going for us, but it's how you react.
"You can't tell me that the team that ran Man United into the ground, outplayed Chelsea and beat Everton isn't a good team because I am not having it."
