Murty backs Reading pal Kitson for England

Reading captain Graham Murty is backing striker Dave Kitson to win a place in Fabio Capello's first England squad.

He said: "I noticed Mr Capello has been at some of our games and Dave has played very well so he will have impressed him.

"It would be fantastic for him because he has had a really good season. He is the top English goal-scorer in the Premiership and deserves a pat on the back for that, whether it is by recognition by England or just by being in the papers for doing so well it reflects well on him.

"I love saying he has a great touch for a big man because it winds him up. He is a big guy and is good in the air but he has great ability as well. You can fire the ball in to him and he will retain possession and, more often than not, come out with a good pass the other side of it as well.

"And he is a goal-scorer as well. England have a fantastic array of attacking talent but at the moment he is in form. He is scoring goals and playing well."
