Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy says a move for Bayern Munich defender David Alaba makes sense.
Murphy believes he would be the ideal candidate to come in short-term and replace knee injury victim Virgil van Dijk, but warned the Reds that they won't be the only team interested.
Speaking to Stadium Astro, he said: "In terms of his ability, he absolutely fits.
"He's a super player.
"I suppose what you'd have to be looking at from Jurgen Klopp's perspective is the balance in the squad moving forward when everyone is fit.
"Or, do you look short-term and get the best option in possible? That would be him. I'd want to do it, personally, you can't have too many players.
"But, I think there would be a lot of competition.
"I think he would certainly add quality and strength in depth.
"But, there will be a lot of takers for Alaba."
