Murphy: Hodgson has lifted Fulham confidence

Danny Murphy believes Fulham are playing with more confidence under new manager Roy Hodgson.

Ahead of their Premiership clash with West Ham, Murphy told fulhamfc.com: "We've played quite well in some games but we've just not put a 90 minute performance. Our matches against Everton, Chelsea and Birmingham were good performances in parts but that's not good enough.

"Those games have gone now and we have to focus on the new Manager. We're working really hard on the Training Ground and the Manager is trying to put his ideas across and that takes a little bit of time. We're all enthusiastic and trying to do the right things and we are confident. There are fixtures coming up, obviously Arsenal at home is a difficult one, but there are games we can take points from.

"I think the crucial fact is that we're still in touch. If you win two games on the spin your back four or five spaces above yourself again. It's not as if we're out of sight. It's there for us and a couple of good results and performances will give us the confidence we need. When you win games you gain confidence."
