Former Barcelona defender Marc Muniesa feels ready to play centre-half for Stoke City.
The former Spain youth international is enjoying the challenge of adapting to the different demands of a different league.
He told The Sentinel: "The forwards here are more physical and the game is more direct compared to Spain, where it's more technical.
"Sometimes here you can play more passing football, but when teams like Southampton press a lot you have to be ready for high intensity games and do what's needed.
"I know that coming from a different country it can be difficult to get so many minutes on the pitch, but I will get opportunities and I have to make them count.
"When the chance arrives to play, like at Southampton, I'm very happy. It was difficult against Jay Rodriguez and Rickie Lambert, they are good players, but we made a good point."
