Mum & Dad Xhaka backing Basel to beat Arsenal

The parents of Taulant and Granit Xhaka will be backing Arsenal to lose FC Basel in tonight's Champions League clash.

The siblings have already been on opposing teams this year after Taulant and Albania played Granit and Switzerland at Euro 2016, with the Swiss coming out on top in a 1-0 win in France.

Taulant told the Telegraph that their parents Elmaze and Ragip are in London for the match, and that it will be a special occasion for the family.

Ragip and Elmaze originally lived in Kosovo, though left in 1990 after Ragip was released from a three-and-a-half-year prison sentence for demonstrating against the Communist regime.

The duo ended up settling in Basel and having Taulant and Granit, and the former says that his parents are supporting the Swiss side against the Gunners 'for their heart' - though would be happy if either brother finished as the victor.
