Cash-strapped Portsmouth have allowed Hayden Mullins to join Championship rivals side Reading on loan until the end of the season. The 32-year-old midfielder has joined his hometown club as Pompey continue their efforts to balance the books after the club entered administration in February.
Portsmouth joint administrator Trevor Birch told the club's official website:
"This deal makes a difference on both of these fronts. This is solely about increasing the club's chances of survival."
Boss Michael Appleton added: "He has been a good servant to this club and was very happy here. But we all know about the club's financial situation and this move will help to bring in some money to keep the club going." "This is another decision that has not been taken lightly. I feel desperately sorry for the supporters that we are in this position.
