Mulder hails Chelsea goalscorer Ziyech: He's showing up Havertz

Former Holland striker Youri Mulder hailed the performance of Hakim Ziyech in Chelsea's win at Burnley.

Ziyech struck in the 3-0 victory, producing a first class performance on the day. And it was the manner of the display which impressed Mulder most.

Mulder is happy seeing the midfielder taking the self-belief he built up in the Eredivisie with Ajax to England. The pundit is convinced it's that bravado which has helped Ziyech settle so quickly into the demands of the Premier League.

"I really like the way he is on the field," Mulder said on Ziggo Sport via Voetbalzone, before drawing comparisons between the former Ajax star and Blues teammate Kai Havertz.

"I have not seen what Ziyech does from (Kai) Havertz, for example.

"Ziyech stands there as he has always played. He stands there with conviction within himself. So: give me the ball, I am the boss here, I am the best of all of you, he walks there on the field. He walks there like the big purchase, you know, what everyone is looking at.

"And Havertz ... if you compare that. He's a bit lost, if he doesn't get the ball, he doesn't dare to say anything. Hakim Ziyech is there!"

Victory at Turf Moor marked Ziyech's first goal for Chelsea in the Premier League.

Mulder is a former Belgian-born Holland international striker who spent over nine years with Schalke before also twice acting as caretaker manager and as assistant coach with the Bundesliga giants. Mulder, before moving to Schalke, also had three years in the Eredivisie with FC Twente.
