Moyes planning West Ham rebuild around Rice as Chelsea, Arsenal circle

David Moyes wants to overhaul his West Ham United squad this summer, but he wants to build his new team around Declan Rice.

Reports in England this week claimed that Rice was being made available to help raise funds, with the Hammers struggling financially due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Rice would likely to demand £70m and would not be short of suitors as Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal are all interested in acquiring his signature.

But according to the London Evening Standard, Moyes wants to build his team around the 21-year-old, who has become a bonafide Premier League player and England international in recent seasons.

While selling Rice would certainly help the transfer kitty, Moyes thinks there are a number of other players that could be sold before him.

Andriy Yarmelenko, Carlos Sanchez, Felipe Anderson, Manuel Lanzini and Issa Diop are all expendable for the Scot, who wants to develop a young core in east London.
