Moyes must push through West Ham clearout

West Ham United boss David Moyes faces having to clearout several fringe players before he can add to his squad this summer.

Moyes wants to work with a smaller squad next season to get the club's young players more involved.

But he fears it could be difficult to sell players in the current market - with coronavirus only likely to make it tougher, says the Daily Star.

West Ham have been told that transfer fees are set to tumble this summer - but also that many clubs could be left struggling to shift players they don't want.

Moyes wants to build a young British core at West Ham and is already scouring the Championship for homegrown talent.

Jarrod Bowen has been a big hit since his £20m move from Hull and Moyes wants a similar profile of hungry young star.

But he also wants to make room in the squad for the likes of Grady Diangana, currently on loan at West Brom, and that means there must be outgoings.
