Moyes gives green light for West Ham to sign Man Utd defender Jones

West Ham United manager David Moyes is seeking a reunion with Phil Jones.

The Manchester United centre-back is on the market as he is not in the plans of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the coming season.

With United close to signing Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, Eurosport claims that West Ham may go in for Jones.

If United allow Jones to leave on a free transfer, which means they would not receive any transfer fee, Moyes would be keen to scoop him up.

Jones has suffered a string of injury problems in the past few years, but he has spent a decade with United, playing 224 games in that time.

If he did join West Ham, he would have to agree to a performance based contract.
