Moyes becomes FOURTH British manager of Real Sociedad

David Moyes becomes the fourth British coach in Real Sociedad's history.

Moyes was named as the next Real Sociedad boss late on Monday night - seven months after he was sacked as Manchester United manager.

Before him was Wales coach Chris Coleman, who lasted just 20 games with Real when they were in the Segunda Division.

Former Real Madrid coach John Toshack had three spells in charge of Real Sociedad, the first (1985-1989) saw him take his team to win the Cup - the club's last official title won. He returned in 1991 to leave in 1995 and then managed again between 2000 and 2002. In all, 322 matches in Spain's first division.

Harry Lowe had five years in charge of Real Sociedad between 1930 and 1935.

On 24th March 1934, at the age of 48, he had no choice but to play himself against Valencia, as he didn't have enough players available. They lost 7-1, but the manager gave the assist to Olivares' goal. Thanks to that day, Lowe is the oldest player to have played in Spain's la Liga.
