Juan Mata will not be offloaded by Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho this summer.
Sky Sports reports that the Red Devils boss is expected to keep the Spanish midfielder at Old Trafford despite reports throughout the summer window suggesting otherwise.
Mata, who came on in the second half, was substituted after playing less than 30 minutes of Sunday's Community Shield win over Leicester City which further indicated that Mourinho could dump him as he did when in charge of Chelsea.
It is understood that 28-year-old Mata still has a role to play under Mourinho and will be kept on as the Portuguese continues to prepare his new-look squad for the new Premier League season which kicks off at Bournemouth on Sunday.
