Mourinho wants Man Utd to copy Borussia Dortmund blueprint

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants the club to emulate Borussia Dortmund's scouting model.

The Daily Mail says United have moved to swell their ranks with new faces over the last three years and currently employ 58 scouts across the world. But Mourinho wants a streamlined approach.

Sources claim he has cited the example of Borussia Dortmund, who have a committee ruling on transfers. Mourinho updates his transfer wishlist on a monthly basis but has struggled to land many placed at the top of his list since taking over from Louis van Gaal.

The manager is in contact with chief scouts Marcel Bout and Jim Lawlor, although remains largely in the dark about the activity of those below them.
