Mourinho suggests outcast Schweinsteiger may have Man Utd future

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has said midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger could stay at Old Trafford beyond the January transfer window.

It had been expected the 32 year old would leave United despite making a surprise return to the first-team after he was made to train on his own by Mourinho at the start of the season.

However, the United boss says the situation might have changed.

"Of course he can (stay)," said Mourinho.

"If you have a contract you are the powerful one that can decide your future. In the summer we try to make something happen for Bastian to get a different future. He decided to stay in difficult circumstances.

"In January he is the powerful one - and with better feelings than before."
