The Football Association have asked for assistance from prominent agent Jorge Mendes in their search for a new England manager, according to reports from The Sun.

Following the departure of Roy Hodgson as manager of England following the disastrous European Championships, the FA have been actively searching for the ideal replacement for the 68-year-old and a host of names have been bandied about in the media as potential candidates.

The FA are believed to be open to appointing a foreign manager and now according to reports, claims have been made that the association has requested assistance from super agent Mendes in their search for the new England manager.

The Portuguese, who has the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho on his books, has an extensive contacts list which the FA feel could be useful in their hunt for a top quality coach.
