Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is demanding a deal for Olympique Marseille midfielder Maxime Lopez this summer.

Lopez is available from Marseille as they seek a raft of sales to help balance the books.

And while Sevilla are in contact, Estadio Deportivo says they'll face competition from Tottenham - with Mourinho driving the deal.

The Spurs manager has long been a fan of Lopez and is convinced he can thrive in the Premier League.

And Mourinho has instructed Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to act quickly to burn off competition from Sevilla and beyond for Lopez's signature.
