Mourinho pleased as Chelsea adapt to down West Ham

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was thrilled to see his side produce a strong 2-0 victory over West Ham United on Boxing Day.

The Blues remained top of the table thanks to goals from John Terry and Diego Costa either side of half-time in a performance that thoroughly pleased their manager.

Mourinho felt his team adapted well to various situations throughout the 90 minutes against a West Ham outfit he believed were hard to break down.

"There is no perfection but we played very well against a very difficult team," Mourinho said.

"We played well with two different versions; the first one against a defensive side. We were very good, we moved the ball, we moved the players with good dynamic and made lots of chances.

"In the second half there was another version against an attacking team that tried to put pressure on us, made chances and we also coped well with that situation and found some space to counter-attack.

"It is very important for a team to identify different moments of a game and to be able to adapt and Chelsea today was a good example of that and did that very well."
