Mourinho pays tribute to Man Utd fans for THAT Spurs response

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho had paid tribute to their fans ahead of today's Old Trafford return to meet Wolves.

In his first programme notes for almost four weeks, Mourinho penned a paean to United's followers who stayed until the end against Tottenham.

"Thank you Old Trafford for what you gave us after Tottenham. The credit of our positive spirit in the last three victories is yours," Mourinho wrote.

"It has been almost four weeks since we last played at Old Trafford, but I cannot forget how amazing the atmosphere was in our last home game, even though it was a defeat.

"It was not normal to see the reaction our supporters gave despite losing the game, but I think there was recognition the team has given everything. The boys had played well and were unfortunate. I think that was recognised, and in turn the players recognised the support they were given.

"It is no coincidence the team has continued to improve ever since and I hope that is the same story again today, with the players and the fans driving each other on."
