Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has offered Arsenal manager Unai Emery advice on how to handle Mesut Ozil.
Mourinho worked with Ozil as Real Madrid coach.
The 30-year-old midfielder has been struggling at the Emirates since Emery took over last summer, and often finds himself out of the squad due to "tactical reasons".
Mourinho said: "I just feel Ozil is a player that needs both sides of it. If you are just sweet with him you lose his natural aggression because he's not naturally very strong, physical in terms of aggression.
"If you are too strong with him and forget that he needs a little bit of care and love, you don't find the right balance.
"So I don't know if there is a physical problem or a confrontation of ideas with Unai. With me Ozil played magnificently well, maybe not with Unai.
"I don't know what's going on, whether he has physical problems or not. He signed a contract and decided to stay so that is not an issue."
