Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is frustrated over their failure to sign Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic.

Perisic starred for Croatia at the World Cup and scored in the final won by France yesterday.

When speaking on Russia Today in his role as a pundit, Mourinho was asked about Croatia's key players and name-checked Perisic and United missing out on him.

Mourinho said: “Perisic, he went from Croatia to [Borussia] Dortmund, goes to Wolfsburg, goes to Inter.

“I do not know why he did not come to Manchester United when I wanted him."
