Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes his new signing left-back Abdul Baba Rahman will be ready for action next week.
The Blues announced the signing of the 21-year-old Ghanaian international from Bundesliga club FC Augsburg on Sunday.
Speaking after the 3-0 loss to Manchester City, Mourinho confirmed the news: "It's important because he's a left-back and he can compete with (Cesar) Azpilicueta.
"At the same time, Azpi can also compete with (Branislav) Ivanovic for the right-back position. This player replaces Filipe Luis in terms of the balance of the squad.
"Hopefully next week he will be ready."
Chelsea will travel to The Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion next weekend.
