Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is full of praise for St Etienne defender William Saliba.

The young centre-half has attracted enquiries from United - with an approach made after the dismissal of Mourinho in December.

And the Portuguese has hinted Saliba was discussed at United when he was in charge.

He told RMC: "William Saliba has all the assets to become a good player, just like Kurt Zouma I had with me.

"I also like players like Saint-Maximin and Ismaïla Sarr for their speed.

"There are many players who have great potential in France."
