Mourinho disagrees with Man Utd pair after Juventus defeat

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho disagreed with his players' assessment of their Champions League defeat to Juventus.

Mourinho disagreed with Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof's suggestion that United had shown Juventus too much respect.

The Portuguese said: "I don't think so, they can tell by themselves. I tried not to, that's why we played with the team that we played. Was also with the intention of being positive and bring with the match we did from Stamford Bridge but I have to say that Juventus is a different level.

"And if people don't want to accept that it is their problem. They are a different level of quality, stability, experience and know-how. It was a really difficult match for us, I thought before the game and during the game that we could take something out of this game, but was not possible. We didn't manage to score.

"I think we could and the effort of the boys deserved a goal, a draw, a point. But it was not possible but I have no complaints with my boys. I have a positive feeling towards their effort."
