Mourinho convinced Foy may've cost Chelsea title

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho believes ref Chris Foy has cost them the Premier League title.

The 1-0 loss at Aston Villa a fortnight ago saw Foy dismiss Willian and Ramires while Mourinho was sent to the stands.

When asked if he will blame the Villa defeat should they lose the championship by a point, he said: "Yes because the other matches we lost we didn't play well, the opponent was better, we miss big chances. Against Stoke we had chances to kill the game and lost. Newcastle played much better than us. You find the natural reasons to lose a match. If you go to the Villa match, it's different.

"What happened against Villa, I never accept. I have a lot of experience and learned a lot of things. I learned how to lose with a bad performance and because the opponent was better. I learn to lose with a referee mistake because we can also lose with my mistake.

"The only thing I didn't learn is to lose with that kind of referee performance. I learn to control my emotions. I learn to calm down in the moment like I did but I don't learn how to accept that kind of performance.

"The team are playing well for a long, long time. Somebody was very successful in putting a hurdle in front of us and we crashed the hurdle against Villa and lost."
