Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho agreed with the yellow card shown to Oscar in his side's 3-0 win at Southampton on New Year's Day.
The Brazilian midfielder was booked by referee Martin Atkinson when he went down under the slightest of touches from Saints keeper Kelvin Davis with the Blues boss in favour of the decision.
However, Mourinho insisted that Oscar is not a serial simulator following a similar incident against West Ham United recently.
"Oscar is a clean player," Mourinho said.
"He was waiting for the goalkeeper to come and smash him because that's what normally happens in those situations.
"It happened with Oscar at West Ham but the goalkeeper stopped before the contact so in the end instead of the goalkeeper trying to smash him it was (Oscar) trying to touch the goalkeeper. It was a fair yellow card."
