Mourinho back on agenda for Real Madrid powerbrokers

DiarioSport says after the defeat to Roma, Real president Ramon Calderon and sports director Pedja Mijatovic held a crisis meeting, with it being concluded that contingency plans must be made over Schuster's situation.

For now, the German's job is safe with Real top of the Liga table, but even a championship victory cannot guarantee Schuster seeing out his three-year contract after Fabio Capello's departure last year.

The three top names already under consideration by Calderon and Mijatovic are Jose Mourinho, Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez and Arsenal's Arsene Wenger - with the Portuguese top of the pile.

Jorge Mendes, Mourinho's representative, was in Madrid ten days ago, and although it was suggested Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo was on the agenda, the truth is that the ex-Chelsea boss has become a priority.

However, time is against Real Madrid, since Mourinho is in advanced talks with AC Milan, who wishes to secure him as soon as possible.
