Everton plan shock move for Arsenal manager Wenger

Everton want to hire Arsene Wenger as their manager if the Frenchman is sacked by Arsenal.

Wenger's future was plunged into further doubt following his side's 2-1 loss to Brighton on Sunday. It was the Gunners third consecutive loss in the Premier League and renders their chance of making the top-four hopeless.

The 68-year-old is under contract until the end of next season, but the recent fall from grace is likely to persuade the board to remove their long-standing manager.

But Wenger won't have to wait long for a new job opportunity to arise.

According to the Daily Star, Toffees owner Farhad Moshiri wants to bring the former Monaco boss to Goodison Park as a replacement for Sam Allardyce.

'Big Sam' has failed to impress the Everton supporters despite lifting the club out of the relegation zone after taking over from Ronald Koeman in November.

Moshiri wants to make a splash with his new appointment and believes Wenger is the perfect candidate.
