James Morrison is happy Graham Dorrans signed a new deal with West Bromwich Albion this summer.
The former Middlesbrough ace, who signed his own new contract in February, is predicting a bright future for them both on the domestic and international stage after the pair were called up together for the first time by Scotland for Wednesday week's friendly in Stockholm.
"I think Dozza was already signed up for another four years, anyway, but it was still important to get him nailed down to a new contract," Morrison told the WBA website.
"It would have been disappointing to see him go just after we'd been promoted - but the club wouldn't have allowed that anyway.
"I said at the time that we need to get our good players on good contracts. And Dozza's right to stay and ignore all the hype.
"He's still learning the game and he'll get better.
"He's highly thought of here by everyone and he'll do well."
