PSG's Morocco wing-back Achraf Hakimi is looking forward to facing Spain winger Marco Asensio in their looming World Cup clash.
The pair were former Real Madrid teammates.
Hakimi told AS: "He knows what kind of player I am, I know what he is like... It will be a nice duel.
"At Real Madrid he has had very good moments and now there are other players better than him, but in the National Team he has shown that he is on a spectacular level, that you have to be very careful with him and that, when given the confidence and support of the coach, he responds."
Hakimi also admits he could've committed to Spain earlier in his career.
He added: "Yes, there were times in Youth. There were contacts, I went to the Spanish National Team also to try, with De la Fuente. I spent a couple of days in Las Rozas and saw that it was not my right place, I did not feel at home.
'It was not for anything in particular, but for what I felt, because it was not what I had experienced and lived at home, which is the Arab culture, being Moroccan. I wanted to be here."
