Moreno pledges to score the goals for Wigan survival

Marcelo Moreno is hoping to ensure Premiership survival for Wigan. The Bolivian striker joined the Latics on transfer deadline day, completing a loan deal from Shakhtar Donetsk which is set to run until the end of the 2009/10 campaign.

The 22-year-old is confident in his own ability and is delighted to have been offered another opportunity to shine by Wigan.

"Coach Martinez convinced me to join Wigan so now I am hoping to give something back by putting in good performances," he said.

"My team-mates and I will do all we can to help the club achieve a better position in the table.

"I am working hard with my team-mates to make sure I enjoy the perfect debut. Our next opponents are only two points ahead of us so the match is very important."
