Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos is interesting Newcastle United.

The Daily Star says it's understood Toon boss Steve Bruce would prefer to sign players from the domestic market.

At the top of his own hit-list is Hull's prolific forward Jarrod Bowen, who joined from Hereford when Bruce was in charge of the Tigers.

The 23-year-old's contract expires in June and there are no shortage of clubs who are looking at a player who has scored more Championship goals than anyone in 2019.

While Bruce has the advantage of knowing the Bowen well, he fears Hull owner Assem Allam may be reluctant to sell to his former manager who quit in acrimonious circumstances three and a half years ago.

The Newcastle boss also likes Rangers' Morelos, the Scottish Premiership's leading marksman but knows that with Steven Gerrard's side still in the title race north of the border, the chances of landing the Colombian hothead are remote.
