Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti is surprised by Marco Branca's exit.

The sporting director was axed last week.

"The decision wasn't up to me," said Moratti. "But there is definitely some regret because I worked with him for 10 years.

"It was totally unexpected, but I think the new ownership wants some new voices, which you have to respect.

"My tips for Thohir? He has to be around a lot more and has to rely only on those people who he has 100 per cent confidence in."
