Montpellier midfielder Ryad Boudebouz: I was offered 4-year Man Utd deal

Montpellier midfielder Ryad Boudebouz has revealed he turned down Manchester United as a junior.

Boudebouz says the offer arrived while he was training with Sochaux's academy.

He told L'Equipe: "I was negotiating with Sochaux and my father received a phone call from a recruiter of Manchester United.

"We did not believe it until the day he came home with a pro contract for four years, and a lot of money. At the time, it was already a lot to us.

"But we were sensible enough not to leave too soon."
