Monroy leaves Leeds for Xanthi manager's post

Leeds United Under-23s coach Jaime Monroy has left for Greece.

Leeds-Live reports Monroy has left his role at the club to take up the position of first-team manager at Greek side Xanthi FC.

Monroy was at the club for two years but has decided to leave for pastures new in order to become a manager of a professional outfit for the first time in his coaching career.

The 38-year-old has worked alongside both Carlos Corberan and Mark Jackson during his time at Leeds and helped the club transition into their Category One status that was achieved last year for the first time in history.

He helped guide the Under-23s' promotion to the Premier League Two Division One last term, as Leeds romped to the title in their debut season at the highest level of academy football
