Swansea City boss Garry Monk is delighted to have kept hold of skipper Ashley Williams this season.
While Monk has pulled off transfer market success by bringing in the likes of Lukasz Fabianski and Gylfi Sigurdsson, he ranks tying his skipper to a new contract as one of his best bits of business.
"When I got the job, one of my first discussions was with Ashley to sign a new contract," he said.
"I knew he had been linked with other teams over the past few seasons, but I knew that it was important and I wanted him to stay in my first year.
"As a manager to have your cub captain signing a new contract and really wanting to do it was massive."
