Swansea City boss Garry Monk was delighted to kickoff his management career with their 3-0 derby win over Cardiff City.
Swansea "parted company" with manager Michael Laudrup on Tuesday evening with veteran defender Monk and first-team coach Alan Curtis taking charge of first-team affairs "for the foreseeable future".
Monk admitted he was proud of his first win in charge of Swansea and hopes his players can build on this with some belief.
He said: "There is no prouder man tonight than me.
"All I cared about was that the players went out there with some belief....belief of how good they are as players.
"Confidence is the biggest thing. Half the battle is the mentality, if you can get the mentality right the rest of it takes care of itself. The football takes care of itself if the mentality's right."
