Monk admits Swansea below par in Stoke defeat

Swansea City manager Garry Monk has admitted that his side were simply not good enough during their 1-0 defeat to Stoke on Monday night.

Swansea are now five matches without a win and speaking after the home loss, Monk was ruing his side's lack of a cutting-edge in each of the games of this recent negative streak

"We haven't been at the levels that we need to be at during the last four games," said the Swans boss.

"It's disappointing, because we all know - especially myself - how capable this group of players are and the football that we can produce.

"We knew they would come and play on the counter attack tonight, and we made too many simple mistakes on the ball - simple passes went astray and they scored their goal from one of our mistakes.

"We're in a difficult moment, but we will come back in tomorrow and work hard and stick together to make sure we return to the levels that we are capable of."

Bojan Krkic scored the only goal of the contest at the Liberty Stadium with a fourth-minute penalty after he was fouled in the area by Swans skipper Ashley Williams.
