AS Monaco striker Wissam Ben Yedder has revealed he fielded interest from Barcelona in January.

Ben Yedder only moved to ASM last summer from Sevilla, but popped up on Barca's radar as they sought a replacement for knee injury victim Luis Suarez.

“I could have made the switch to Barcelona before. Last summer, for example. They inquired several times. The same happened in the winter, but in the end it was not agreed," Ben Yedder told Onze Mundial.

"The interest shows that I am on the right track.

"But despite that interest, I am fully focused on my performance with AS Monaco. I saw that Barcelona came for me as something extra."
