The Daily Mail says Arsenal have knocked back an approach from Monaco for attacking midfielder Smith Rowe.

The Ligue 1 club have been the first of Smith Rowe's suitors to firm up their interest but have been rebuffed in their attempts to discuss a permanent deal for the 20-year-old.

Monaco's sporting director Paul Mitchell is a big fan of Smith Rowe.

The former Southampton and Tottenham talent spotter Paul Mitchell was RB Leipzig's head of recruitment and behind the Bundesliga club's move for Smith Rowe when he had a spell on loan at the German club in 2019.
