AS Monaco have made contact with sacked Arsenal boss Unai Emery about a return to Ligue 1.

The former PSG coach has found himself instantly in demand since losing his Gunners job, having already turned down an approach from Everton before their appointment of Carlo Ancelotti.

Le 10 Sport says Monaco have also sounded out Emery about his availability as they consider the future of coach Leonardo Jardim.

While negotiations haven't kicked off, contact between Emery and ASM has now been made, as there has been with fellow free agents Marcelino and Laurent Blanc.

But nothing will be stepped up until a final decision is made over whether ASM are to go forward with Jardim.
