Monaco due massive pay-off if PSG sell Mbappe to Real Madrid

AS Monaco will be due a massive cut of Kylian Mbappe's transfer fee should PSG agree to sell the striker to Real Madrid.

Sport says if PSG sell Mbappé to Real Madrid this summer, they will need to pay €35 million to his former club AS Monaco.

In 2017, when PSG signed Mbappé, a clause was inserted into the deal that would see his former side receive a huge cash windfall in the event of a sale. Monaco will be hoping to receive this money in the coming days, as rumours of a transfer to Real Madrid intensify. An opening bid of €160 million has already been rejected by the French club.

In 2017, PSG's president Nasser Al-Khelaifi promised the player that he would be willing to negotiate with Real Madrid if they made an approach for the player. Mbappé feels that it is now time for him to honour this agreement.

Monaco will be hoping that the deal goes through swiftly, as the later the deal is confirmed, the less time they will have to spend their €35 million.
