Monaco defender Kongolo delighted to join Huddersfield

Terrence Kongolo sure is happy to be in Yorkshire.

The 23-year-old left the French riviera on Tuesday to join Huddersfield Town.

Kongolo has signed with the Terriers on loan until the end of the season.

And speaking to the club's website, the Dutchman was overjoyed with the move.

"I am very happy (to join Huddersfield Town) because it's a good step for me and I get to play in the Premier League; I'm happy to make this step," said Kongolo.

"I spoke before I came to the Head Coach and he gave me a lot of confidence. I think the Premier League is a big step for me and I want to show my quality.

"I have seen that Huddersfield Town has been doing well, so I'm happy for them and I think we can continue to do some good work.

"The Head Coach told me I was good for this system; he told me I could make a step in the Premier League.

"I've heard about the home games and that the fans make a lot of the noise. For me I like football with passion and the fans always give you more power to play in the games."

After joining the principality club from Feyenoord in the summer, Kongolo made just six appearances across all competitions this season.
