Aaron Mokoena says Blackburn Rovers have suffered this season because of so many changes to the management and squad.
The South Africa defender explained: "We should be not be where we are. Since I have been here we have never been in this position before. We have had a couple of seasons where we have done fantastic. But changing players, managers etc it takes a while to get the team to get going.
"That has been the major problem but hopefully once we avoid relegation, next season will be an exciting time and a very different story. I honestly believe this season has been a one-off.
"At the moment we are still trying to get used to what Sam Allardyce wants and for us to do well it is about us understanding what he wants to do. With the players we have, we believe we can play the way the gaffer wants us to play."
