Luka Modric is urging Gareth Bale to stay with Real Madrid.

The pair also played together at Tottenham and Modric is Bale's closest friend in Madrid.

"He is an outstanding player and very important to the team," said Modric.

"He shows it this season. I hope he stays this season and the next ones too."

The pair faced off for Wales' 1-1 draw with Croatia on Sunday.
