MLS reunion with Lampard on the cards for Chelsea midfielder Mikel

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has hinted that he could follow ex-teammate Frank Lampard to the Major League Soccer.

Mikel has been a great servant for Chelsea for over a decade now but the midfielder has not seen any action on the pitch this season following the appointment of Antonio Conte as manager.

As a result, it is widely expected that Mikel will be leaving Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window and the Nigerian international has gone on to admit that he could follow Blues legend Lampard, currently with New York City FC, to the USA's MLS competition.

He told Goal: "There was absolutely no doubt that Frank wouldn't go out there and succeed.

"I am happy that he is back to his best, doing what he loves to do and, one day, who knows, I may go over there and play with him, or play against him."
