Manchester City signing Kelechi Iheanacho could be playing in MLS next year.

The Daily Star Sunday says City have applied for a work permit for Nigeria wonder boy Iheanacho, 18, declaring he is a player who qualifies under the "special talent" rule.

Iheanacho has been with the champions since the summer and scored against AC Milan and Kansas City on the club's pre-season tour of America.

He has recently been training in the US with Columbus Crew.
