Chivas USA's new owners, Major League Soccer, have appointed long-time MLS executive Nelson Rodriguez as the clubs president.
MLS took charge of the Goats last week, purchasing the franchise from Jorge Vergara and Angelica Fuentes, and have now taken action in bringing in an experienced soccer person to oversee operations for the foreseeable future.
MLS are responsible for day-to-day operation of Chivas until new owners are found and during that time, Rodriguez will be the man to manage the processes.
Rodriguez has spent almost a decade-and-a-half with the league, most recently acting as MLS executive vice-president of competition, technical and game operations.
"I am thankful for the opportunity and recognize the responsibility in what is an important season for the club," Rodriguez said in an official statement released by the club.
"Regardless of the ownership status, this team and staff will compete on all fronts and we look forward to the challenge."
